Spacing planning, Kitchen extension Swords, Co. Dublin

About Project

The Client Brief

The couple who had previously used Linda Waters Designs wanted to add a 1.8 square meter extension and keep their existing kitchen in place.  The space needed to flow and have the wow factor.

The Challenge

Finding a way to give the impression of light and warmth, bearing in mind the lack of natural light. Working around existing units and making the space feel as one.

What we did

With that in mind we designed the space with functional areas in mind, so each functional area would work seamlessly together. The main feature was the large imposing island with a plastered finish surrounding the open box shelf on the lounge side. The island was designed as a focal point in blending their existing Silestone Noka worktops with Silestone Iconic White to top the once exterior wall. Layer lighting was carefully planned to create functional and atmospheric lighting.  We added a sideboard to link the living area with the kitchen. The room was designed to be practical for cooking and stylish for entertaining.

End result

Stunning with its design and space.  A space our client tells us has been used for many family gathering occasions both large and small.  They are very pleased with the extension and how it suits their lifestyle.
